WordCamp Brisbane

Another year and another great WordCamp Brisbane, and each year has just gotten better. The community is so welcoming and the organisers will put that extra effort in to ensure the event is inclusive and peoples needs are catered for. I really enjoyed the talks on testing and testing pipelines, there was also an interesting talk on the proposal for a WordPress plugin quality check/confirmation. The Saturday drinks where great and a fantastic networking event,…

Joomla Day Australia

I was happy to be able to make Joomla Day Australia this year after missing the previous years. Joomla is a CMS I have been building with since its inception, and I am quite proud to say that I witnessed its departure from Mambo and its bloom into Joomla 😀 This year I was giving a talk on my favourite Joomla topic, Accessibility. SEAGL

I found myself back in Seattle just in time for SeaGL 😀 I have wanted to attend this conference for awhile as it is one of the few grass roots Open Source / FLOSS conferences left in America. The talk I gave was around IOS and accessibility features that developers can take advantage of when building apps. I tried to make the talk technical enough without going into too much code detail, I am finding it hard to convey the needed information…

OSCON Austin

This did not take away from the focus at professionalism of the conference. They definitely lacked the student crowd that the hall pass in Portland, which for me also meant not seeing alot of the freelance developer crowd who could not justify the…

Linux Collaborators Summit

So we jumped on a plane after an Easter in Australia and made it to Lake Tahoe for Snow, a Blues Festival and a Linux Conference. The Linux collaborators conference was one I had wanting to attend as there are not many conferences that have that many Lawyers in a room who understand what Open Source is let alone work for companies that are growing and fostering Open Source. It was also a great excuse…
